Note to Obama Administration

Actions have consequences.

Transportation Secretary Roy LaHood advised Toyota owners to “stop driving their cars and take them to their dealers” two weeks ago.   He later said it was a “misstatement.”  Toyota stock has dropped since.

And now American Toyota plants will idle two factories.

In all fairness, Toyota’s massive recall dented the automaker’s reputation for quality.  But LaHood’s comments–against the car manufacturer that last year overtook Government Motors as the world’s largest–are inane at best and horrific when you consider the government’s stake in a competitor.
