A word to the [supposedly] wise

From Reuters:

President Barack Obama on Thursday made clear he was not going to take advice from Republican Sarah Palin when it comes to decisions about the U.S. nuclear arsenal.

Palin, the former vice presidential candidate, has not been shy about criticizing Obama’s policies and this week weighed in on his revamped nuclear strategy, saying it was like a child in a playground who says ‘punch me in the face, I’m not going to retaliate.’

“I really have no response to that. The last I checked, Sarah Palin is not much of an expert on nuclear issues,” Obama said in an interview with ABC News.

That’s right, call her stupid.  She’s not much of an expert, eh?  Problem is, neither are you.

Second problem: More people agree with her.

It’s called common sense.  God help us when our leaders have absolutely none.

H/T: Memeorandum.

UPDATE:  Ed Morrissey has more at Hot Air, including video of the President’s comments.  Obama’s defense: well, if the Secretaries of State and Defense agree with my new “strategy,” then it must be ok.  But Gates stated in ’08:

As long as other states have or seek nuclear weapons – and potentially can threaten us, our allies, and friends – then we must have a deterrent capacity that makes it clear that challenging the United States in the nuclear arena – or with other weapons of mass destruction – could result in an overwhelming, catastrophic response…

Our nuclear arsenal also helps deter enemies from using chemical and biological weapons.

Hmm. So that places Gates in the Palin camp.  And he has more “expertise,” doesn’t he?
