Osama bin Laden dead, buried at sea

To all the servicemen and women–and their families–who sacrificed over the last decade because of the war brought to our shores by this man, thank you.

In sharp contrast to Obama’s latest me, myself, and I speech, I am humbled by the Bush statement:

Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001.  I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission.  They have our everlasting gratitude.  This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001.  The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message:  No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.

Yes, it will. Even if it takes a decade.

I am undeniably nervous about retaliation.

Pundette has more.

  1. John Donne famously said, “Any man’s death diminishes me…”

Not this one. Not this one, baby. This called for breaking out my best scotch. Cheers! Salute.

President Bush is always so classy. Unlike me…lol.

  2. He wanted to shut down GITMO asap, remember? But that’s where we got the intelligence about where Osama was. If Obama had really had HIS way Osama would still be alive and well. I cant believe he has the gall to take ALL the credit, use it to try to get re-elected, and thinks we are so stupid we will not be able to connect the dots!
