Heh: Is he serious?

The he in question is Dick Cheney, every liberal’s fave veep, who stated this weekend on FNS that Hilary would have been a better president.

Heh.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney praised Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, apparently at President Obama’s expense, while discussing the possibility of a Hillary Clinton presidency – and 2012 primary challenge to Obama – on Chris Wallace’s Fox News Sunday this morning.

Cheney demurred when asked if Hillary Clinton “would have been a better president” than Obama, but he did say that “she might have been easier than some of us who are critics of the president to work with.”

In explanation, he came as close as he would to complimenting Hillary Clinton at Obama’s expense:

I have a sense that she’s one of the more competent members of the current administration and it would be interesting to speculate about how she might to perform where she to be president.

Cheney still refused to endorse a Hillary challenge to Obama, and noted that “that might be the kiss of death for her.”
Indeed. With one in four libs defiant in wanting a different nominee, this from Darth Cheney might stoke even more argument.

Fabulousness.

UPDATE: Ed Morrissey ponders Cheney’s comments, and thinks the timeline is off. Not that it matters if O continues to slide:

If things get bad enough, Hillary might not need to stage a challenge at all.  As I wrote last month, if Obama’s polling slide continues to accelerate and the economy doesn’t show any signs of improvement — and especially if it dips back into recession — Democrats might push Obama out of the race and invite Hillary to fill the vacuum.  And that might not be good news for Republicans if it happens, either.
It would be impossible for Clinton to extricate herself from serving in O’s administration, much like Huntsman. Oh, yeah, I served in his administration. But I didn’t agree with him? Not so much. And what of the black vote? Liberals have painted themselves into a tight racial-politics corner in this case. If the party dumped a badly polling Obama in favor of a white and not as liberal candidate? Oh my.

  1. I saw that too. To be honest, just about anyone could have been a better president than Obama. He is the worst.
